What is Silhouette?

A venue opened by the Red Lantern Society as an expansion of their services, Silhouette serves as the first step into more exclusive events for their clientele with a specific focus on treating their VIPs for their patronage. Established as a venue intended to entertain more freely than the more public events held at the brothel itself, Silhouette seeks to tempt and titillate through good company and the high-quality performances held by the Silhouette dancers.

Who are the clientele?

The Silhouette is, at the moment, a VIP-exclusive event. VIPs are patrons of the Red Lantern Bordello who have shown support for the venue through attendance to events and interactions with us in our Discord and outside the venue itself. In many ways, we consider the VIPs to be dear friends - and as there is no financial stake in the game, we are able to focus on quality experiences rather than filling the gaps. As a thank you to our hires, we allow hired dancers to bring one guest as a VIP for support.

Are there any rules?

As with all Red Lantern Society's events, Silhouette is for adults only - we do not permit characters or players under the age of eighteen within the establishment. If one is found, they will be placed on a ban-list and their name shared with other venues in the same theme. If an underage guest is found to be the guest of a hired dancer, the dancer will also be placed on the ban list. Outside of this specific rule, we ask for respect toward staff and guests; do not touch the dancers unless you are invited to - Silhouette is not the brothel and not all dancers are sex workers, it is a sensual entertainment venue.

"Interactive experience?"

Silhouette is a performance venue - while good company is handled by the experienced staff of the Red Lantern, the performances are handled by those who volunteer and make the cut for quality. One of the largest complaints about performance venues is that there's little for guests to do beyond sit, converse, and watch a performance on stage. In an attempt to offer variety, Silhouette's performers are encouraged to interact with our guests - they may become the furniture in which a dancer sits, the hand that assists in removing the corset, or may just be touched and teased. We do not permit macro'd performances - these are pre-written and paced to be a high-quality interactive treat.

I would like an invitation!

Silhouette is invitation-only at the moment, and requires VIP status with the Red Lantern Society. We do not offer VIP for payment outside of rare rewards at events; we prefer this as a reward for supporting us in our growth. Due to this policy, our VIPs are effectively vetted through participation, ensuring that those who reach this status are those who understand that we are a high-standards role-playing venue that caters to those who are looking for like minds. Will Silhouette become public?

Right now, our focus is on maintaining high quality interactions between the Red Lantern Society and our guests. For that reason, we're loathe to focus further than is necessary, or promise something that we may not be able to deliver. However, should Silhouette prove to be as much fun as we hope, it is our hope to open more often for the public while keeping select nights specific to our VIPs. One of the bonuses of being a VIP to the Lantern is being able to get first shots at our newer events - from creation to attendance.

I am a performer!

We search for performers per quarter, depending on our needs for upcoming openings. Open auditions are announced for the public for certain days - we do not take auditions outside of these days and do our best to make certain there are different days during the week. Introductions!

Hello and welcome! If you are a guest performer seeking to audition, then please allow me to give you a brief little idea of what we're doing here. Silhouette is a venue opened under the Red Lantern Society's umbrella of businesses and serves as the first of our projects intended to spoil our VIPs - those who have earned that moniker by supporting us and what we do at the Lantern; high-quality role-play that is driven by character-development and a passion to make our mark in the brothel theme as positive influences.As we prefer to keep the business hires focused on the business itself, we do not have a heavy stable of characters whose focus is on performance. We are entertainers, but anyone who has done performance role-play can likely get what we mean when we say it takes a different kind of headspace. To that end, and because we want to network with others in the community, Silhouette is offered up as a venue for those who are primarily performance focused to have another venue to work.It is in this manner that we can keep the Red Lantern Bordello as a brothel, while still offering a variety. It is perfectly within reason for Tsukiko to open an establishment to branch out, and equally within reason for her to wish it to be yet another place that those who need work can find it.

We are not a macro venue!

If you have attended other performance venues, you may have encountered different styles of performance ranging from free-form on the spot, to pre-written performances and perhaps even macro-scripted performances. While every type has it's place, at Silhouette we aim to please through the pre-written performance with an emphasis on the performers interacting with the clientele themselves. We require every performer to have their performance readied ahead of time, as the performance is effectively a high-quality scene and we account for guests having those moments of interaction.

Silhouette is a Gentleman's Club.

Though the term has wiggled on the definition through time, Silhouette is intended to fill the definition of an upscale venue with burlesque as it's focus for entertainment. Performers should be comfortable with the idea of stripping on stage - while explicit nudity itself is not required. We prefer to keep the tease in place, and request that any contact with the guests remains non-explicit - you may seat yourself in a lap for a little wiggle while removing a stocking, but you may not whip out a guest's manhood and ride them right there in front of everyone. While the venue is called a Gentleman's Club, our VIPs span all genders and sexualities.

What should I be inspired by?

Silhouette runs mostly with neo-burlesque; rather than the definition that was often comedy with some feminine nudity, we focus more on the revival with a more specific focus on the sensual and sexual - it is a striptease, but one with playfulness and oft-times humor. If you are looking for particular performers to draw inspiration from, one of the most well known is Dita Von Teese. However, neo-burlesque is a very deep rabbit hole and we encourage performers to spend time digging in to find their own muses. Boys, this isn't just a ladies game - we're looking for you as well! Are there any hard limits?

Yes.While you are permitted and actively encouraged to interact with the audience, performing sexual acts is expressly against the rules. There should be no mention of children at all. There should be no performance which details bodily fluids - no scratching yourself up on stage and wiping the blood on guests. Your music choices can be sultry, sassy or really anything that suits the mood of your performance, but we ask that music that is aggressively sexual and crude not be used, as well as any music that is disparaging of any races, religions and genders.

What should I bring to the audition?

Your audition should already be written - we do not permit performances that are written on the fly, as this can carve heavily into the performance slot for another dancer, so please have your performance ready to go. If there are multiple dancers, please make sure they are present. We give our performers a good 10 - 15 minutes for their performance when done live, but your audition does not need to go this long. If you have music, please make sure it is given to Tsukiko prior - you may have more than one music piece for your performance, but you will only have one performance.

Why are there auditions?

The Red Lantern Society specializes in quality interactions, and we want to make certain that this is upheld. Additionally, we want to make sure that those who perform understand what we're looking for. Auditions allow us to make sure our standard of quality is maintained, as well as give those who audition the opportunity for fair ground - even a Lantern must audition to be on stage. Additionally, please make sure you join the Discord, as we will do much of the communication with our dancers and dancer-prospects there!

What happens after the audition?

Auditions are slotted for four days, in which we will watch any audition that walks in. At the close of the last day, the Lantern staff will choose 3 - 4 of those that auditioned to perform our opening night. These 3 - 4 will be informed a few days after the auditions close, and have a week to get back to us on if they can make the timeslot. We will keep a few others on reserve. In general, we are happy to keep dancers who audition, as we never know if we will need a replacement or not. We will also ask for a headshot and a little blurb that we can put on the carrd once we have the performers slotted in.

I can't make these days...

As we're unable to add more days given our own event schedule, we will be keeping the auditions open for several hours the days of. We can wiggle times, but we're unable to wiggle dates. We do, however, plan on making sure different days are used each round of auditions, with several days selected. If you can't make this one, we hope to see you next time!
